league of your own

I love love LOVE this Dream Street Clubhouse line from Allyscraps ... so wonderfully boyish and perfect for these pictures of Ryan's last day of baseball, last year! I also made a sketch for this page, which is the current sketch challenge. And, as a special March DT feature, all of my fellow Allyscraps DT'ers did a page based on this sketch! You can check them out here, and see what an amazing job they all did. I'm so honored to be part of such a talented group of women!
Journaling:
The final day of your baseball season, and let’s face it – you were glad it was over! But look how proud you are of your trophy! You were so excited when Coach Mike and some of your friends signed your t-shirt, and of course, the end-of-game ice cream cone was always your favorite part. Maybe baseball wasn’t really your thing, but you made the best of it and still had a good time, always making us proud!

as good as it gets

I did this page as a contributing designer to Valerie Salmon's sketch blog - it's for her sketch #54! Used Basic Grey papers and chipboard letters, KI Memories lace cardstock, and these super fun Autumn Leaves barcode stamps!
Journaling:
a glass of ice-cold milk...
a big bowl of pretzels...
a book all about Lionel Trains...
and your best girl Maggie...
It can’t get much better than this for you, can it Ryan? It’s almost like a little piece of heaven on earth!

this is me today

OK, so I'm not one to scrap pages about myself very often! Maybe I'll do it a bit more, now that Morag at Allyscraps has a whole Book of Me challenge forum to get me motivated! You can check it on on the message board there, if interested. I really like combination of the American Crafts papers with the CI Narratives! I trimmed the black CI Narratives down and saved the strip so that I could handcut the swirly-doo from it.

story time

I love this AC line, and how cute is that barcode stamp?? It's part of a great set I got from Allyscraps! You can also check out the challenge posted in The Sketch Spot there to see my sketch for this page, and enter the monthly sketch contest for a $10 gift certificate!
Journaling:
There are so many things about this scene that make me realize how blessed I am: that you are so patient, kind and loving towards your little brother; that you are so bright and such a good reader; that you are interested in books. How proud I was to find the two of you like this – Tyler completely content to be curled up with you, and you happy just to be making him happy, reading him a book. What a wonderful big brother you are, Ryan. I hope you two have many more story times, and many more shared moments like this one. 3.1.08

pinewood derby '08

This page is based on a sketch I created for the sketch challenge at Allyscraps! You can check out the sketch challenge thread on the forum there - there is a chance to win a prize each month!
Journaling:
You and Daddy did a great job working together on your car for your very first Cub Scouts’ pinewood derby! January 2008

ready set go!

I love these pictures of Tyler on the slide at a playground last spring! How cool is he in those shades? LOL! Perfect for the Kaisercraft papers in the Scrapdango kit! And this page is based on my featured sketch for March, which you can check out in the Scrapdango gallery!
Journaling:
Wheeeeeeee!!! Look at how much fun you’re having! Not that long ago, you wouldn’t even go down a slide. Now you’ll spend Ryan’s entire baseball game playing on the playground! Ready, set, GO! Keep sliding, and keep smiling, sweetie! I love to see that happy grin.

firehouse fun

These papers by Kaisercraft are so fun, perfect for boy pages! This is another one from the Scrapdango March kit.
Journaling:
For the Go See It activity for the Tiger Cub Achievement #2 – Where We Live” – the Den got to go visit the McKeesport Firehouse and see how real firemen do their job! The whole gang had a lot of fun, even getting to sit in the fire truck, try on the uniforms, see the firemen’s sleeping quarters and learn something about their jobs. Ryan’s favorite part of it, though, was getting to punch the punching bag that was hanging in the workout area! What a great, fun-filled way to learn a little more about our community, and the people who serve in it.

sweet dreamer

Another one from Scrapdango's latest kit! The kit includes a sheet of Bazzill's In Stitch'z cardstock with the stars pattern, which I used as template to punch holes into the brown cardstock for this page.

Journaling:
You insisted on wearing your sunglasses in the house. A few minutes later, I found you crashed on the floor! 9/07

turtle time

The March Spice kit from Scrapdango!
Journaling:
The turtle ride in Raccoon Lagoon at Idlewild – it’s definitely a unanimous family favorite! Tyler and Daddy took a spin this time around, and as usual, had a blast! June 15, 2007
